What I say: Calling this a Wes Craven set is a bit of a stretch, being as only produced them. I think calling it the Dracula 2000 Four Film Series would have been a lot better. But anyway…
The Dracula 2000 series is kind of an odd bird. The first film would seemingly set the tone, then we would go forward, right? Nope, Dracula II and III are completely different birds with all new characters (except Dracula who is played by someone different in each film). This makes the whole experience feel choppy. The films themselves are fine. But they definitely subscribe to the theory of diminishing returns as they get worse as they go. I’m not saying they are bad films, they’re not. But the series does definitely lose steam as it goes.
I was also worried about picture quality sine four films were being put on the same disc. However, I had nothing to worry about as all four film look great. But there had to be a sacrifice. That sacrifice was the sound. Dracula 2000 and Dracula II both had 5.1 tracks on previous releases but are downgraded to 2.0 for this release. This is kind of disappointing but the great picture quality pretty much makes up for it.
And the last film of the collection, They, is really nothing to write home about and it not up to the quality of the Dracula films. Picture quality is very good however.
Films: 7/10
Blu-Ray: 7/10
