What they say: Junko Miyazono returns as QUICK-DRAW OKATSU, the daughter of a swordplay instructor who takes on a power-hungry magistrate in the second entry in the LEGENDS OF THE POISONOUS SEDUCTRESS series. Joined this time by Rui, a wild young swordswoman, the two sexy avengers embark on a blood-soaked quest for revenge after Okatsu is raped and her father slaughtered by one of his assistants. Okatsu and Rui slash their way through dozens of evil men in order to settle the score with those who wronged them, in this swordplay classic which features some of the best fight scenes of the series.
What I say: While this is the second film in the Poisonous Seductress series, there is no connection to the first film other than the subject matter and of course star Junko Miyazono. This time the lovely Junko plays Okatsu, daughter of a sword master. As per the norm, Okatsus family is killer and she is raped. She escapes with the aid of new sidekick Rui (played by Reiko Ohshida of Delinquent Girl Boss fame.) The two sexy avengers band together to exact horrible vengeance on the men that did them wrong.
This film was directed by Toho horror director Nobuo Nakagawa, which ratcheted up the meanness and torture. This makes for a more harrowing experience than the first film. But all the elements are there. This entry is in color which adds a vibrancy to the proceedings. These films are always gorgeous and the colors really pop.
The presentation is fantastic and this film looks great. It’s a joy to watch and experience.
Extras include trailers for all three Poisonous Seductress films, a commentary and printed essay by Chris D, and another awesome reversible cover.
Film: 9/10
DVD: 10/10
