This was an interesting turn of events and fun too!

So when I was asked, rather jokingly, what I’d miss by not attending any more east coast About Heroes podcasts … I had to be truthful and share that I’ll miss the friendliness of it all; the meals afterwards. Those sandwiches Saturday were kickin’, Kelly. Thank you! Good luck on your upcoming surgical procedure. Just stay positive and you’ll do just fine, I suspect.

Becky, the camera work was spot on. I also saw your remarks on FB. No disrespect, but you don’t know me or the matters that unfolded these last 7-9 years to know enough to be someone with an opinion. That is a poor showing of your management skill. I do wish you luck on the new position at Wendy’s versus you leaving Burger King though.

Dante, best of luck to you in the future. Happy life and all that, mister!

Jeff/Artful Angie — You’ll see me again, I believe. We still have that adventure to Ravenswood, don’t forget. Heh, heh…

I was reading the Bleeding Cool article on this podcast and found this comment by Tom Stillwell to be very interesting.

Stillwell: I’m really quite disappointed in Jeff Hartz. Deception is an Olney tool and not one that people truly interested in exposing him employ. We use the truth. The truth is Olney’s weakness. Olney lies, we expose the lies to the truth. That’s how this works.

Hartz’s deception just seems like a publicity grabbing tactic, and getting attention is something Olney loves. All Jeff Hartz did is play to Olney’s strength.

I’ve always questioned Artful Angie’s motives for going after Olney so strenuously and now it seems that my suspicions have been confirmed.
    http://www.bleedingcool.com/forums/front-page-comic-news/58135-rick-olney-interviewed-artful-angie.html

I have to agree. I once before asked if having Rick Olney on was worth it for the hits this website got and I have to stand by that. What was gained here? The things Rick has done were brought up and as always denied. That helped anyone how?

Is Matt Busch closer to getting his maps back?
Is Scott Reed closer to getting his judgement?
Is anyone closer to getting paid the money they are owed?

Jeff Hartz better have something left to show. Emails from Rick admitting truths? Anything new that can be used to help those who are owed money? If this is all there is I have to say that it’s a pretty weak end.

Also I’m very curious what has happened to the Indiana Jones World Map given during this podcast? Rick claimed to have over 160 left. Rick originally had 223 maps in his possesion. That’s around 63 maps unaccounted for. Well, around 62 now.

  • Matthew Hawes

I will likely regret giving this website any more attention but thought this was important enough to write.

Jeff Hartz wrote elsewhere: “The maps he gave us were numbered 28 and 29 of 255. If he’s sold whatever amount he’s claiming this week to have sold, how is he dispersing them?”

The original print run of the maps was 250. It increased to 255 to allow 5 maps to be given to LucasFilm for their archives. One can assume they have maps numbered #251-255. Matt Busch stated he sold 27 maps prior to giving the remaining 223 maps to Rick. If the maps given to Jeff Hartz are numbered #28 & #29 it stands to reason Rick has sold no maps at all despite his claims in the past of selling at least 10. This could be incorrect but the numbers seem to add up.

Jeff Hartz: “what surprised me was how fast Bleeding Cool picked up on the first podcast! It wasn’t even on the AH site 10 hours and there was Rich’s article.”

When the first podcast was posted, I was the first comment. It went into moderation and so didn’t show up. I then wrote Rich and told him about the podcast and linked him. The next day I saw suddenly Dante had the first post, mine was second and the comments were no longer being moderated before being posted.

Also a last question to Jeff Hartz if they actually ever comment here at their own site. In your deception in creating the persona of Artful Angie, why did you try and make people think you were a woman in July 2010 at the Comic Book Resources website?

I know your standard line is wanting to keep Rick guessing as your identity. If you gave false information on your hair color or location, that would be one thing. To fake your gender on a website, one that had problems with men pretending to be women in the past, seems way over the top. I find it very difficult to understand how that is appropriate or one would think of that kind of step to take.

    • Rick Olney

I’ll be addressing the map matter regarding your questions, Matt Hawes in the very near future.

      Meanwhile, you kids have fun!

      • Rick Olney

        Actually, regarding:

“The original print run of the maps was 250. This could be incorrect but the numbers seem to add up.”

Never assume anything. Maps #1-10 are gone. Maps #28 &#29 were ‘gifted’ by me to Artful and Dante. What that means is that I shall be paying the money into the charity selected for them regardless whether they return the maps to Matt Busch or not.

Maps #30 & #31 are also spoken for. To date, I have had a number of inquiries outside of the USA requesting a sale. Regarding that, I am keeping a list of those individuals in case I decide at a later date to re-contact those involved and offer/complete a sale.

Not sure where you went to Elementary school, but the above still doesn’t give a full accounting…so trying to play this game of one step ahead of the facts will simply cause you to be passing around MORE erroneous information. Which, obviously, you believe is better than the truthful facts.

Oh, and Matthew — If “Beth” was Beth Widera… no worries. I plan on attending MegaCon as a simple attendee like thousands of others. No special passes are needed. I pay my way. LOL

  • Jeff H

Matthew, I answer all those questions over in the Gail Simone section of the Jinxworld forums. I tried to post here earlier. Feel free to hit this link:

    • Rick Olney

Wow… very telling and not necessarily in your favor, Artful. You’ve got dogs. Watch where you step!

      • Rick Olney

Artful, you really didn’t get treated very well on that thread, did you? This whole thing is kind of you having to dignify and explain your actions to your fellow trolls and antagonists. Hmmm… a mixture of strange and sad, I think.

  • Matthew Hawes

Jeff Hartz: “Matthew, I answer all those questions over in the Gail Simone section of the Jinxworld forums.”

I went there and saw a bunch of people saying you have a huge ego, that you are causing a lot of problems and Gail Simone has stated she will lock the thread. Guess your plan to get hits for this site really blew up in your face. The way people are reacting to you at Bleeding Cool isn’t much better.

I saw you did post there and nowhere there did you answer why you pretended to be a woman on a website that had troubles with men pretending to be women. So you either forgot or like Rick Olney does, when you don’t have an answer or that it makes you look bad, you ignore it. I’ll be generous and assume you’ve just forgot to answer like you said you would and if I go back later today you’ll tell them/me why.

As to Rick Olney. It’s Matthew not Matt and save your answers. Nothing you say matters because nothing you say is honest. Do have a good day though and say hi to Beth for me.

    • Rick Olney

Well, Matthew… I’m not sure who you are identifying as “Beth” but I do apologize for responding earlier and calling you Matt. Party on, dude!

  • Jeff H

Matthew, I understand why they’re saying it, and I won’t even begin to try and change people’s opinions. They are what they are. I do believe I did answer the question as to why I used a cover when you consider all the different people Rick has insulted and slurred over the years just because they didn’t agree with him.

I have received word from Matt Busch and will be reading his letter on Thursday during the show.

Rick is still more than welcome to post his usual litany of BS here, as far as I’m concerned. That’s the difference between him and someone with integrity. Rick has to filter out anything negative when people post to his site. We don’t have anything to hide.

    • Rick Olney

Thanks for that, Artful. It is soooo difficult to find a place where nothing is hidden or contrived. I mean, you have proven that you are above such *AHEM* dastardly tactics.

  • Matthew Hawes

Jeff Hartz: I do believe I did answer the question as to why I used a cover when you consider all the different people Rick has insulted and slurred over the years just because they didn’t agree with him.

As I originally stated, I could see making up a lie about your hair color, location, even occupation. There is no reason whatsoever you had to pretend to be a woman. Do you know how wrong that is? I’m going to have to agree with what is being said about you elsewhere. For someone who dislikes Rick Olney so much, you sure do use a lot of his same tactics. From pretending to be someone you aren’t, to ignoring hard questions, to making it all about yourself, you two are cut from the same stone.

Also as Kevin pointed out on Bleeding Cool, you’ve been posting very recently as Artful Angie saying you had emailed Jeff Hartz. That in my eye and many others means all those times you made fun of Rick for talking to himself through sock puppets hypocritical.

I said I’d likely regret giving this site any more attention and I was right. No one ever posts here unless it’s about Rick. Once this is over, you’ll have about as many people reading what you have to say as Rick does. Hope this was all worth it. Hope when you read Michael Mallot say, “so I went through a week of hell for what?” you will remember you could have saved him a lot of pain if you weren’t doing this for your own needs and stopped it then and never act like this again.

I’m done here. Looks like everyone else is too. So of course you want Rick to feel free to post his BS here. Despite saying you were done with him on Gail Simone’s thread. If he stops posting here you won’t have anyone to talk to.

    • Rick Olney

Yeah, sad to say… he’s right, Artful. Why did you go to such outlandish lengths to try to disguise yourself to the extreme. I’m really not that much of a threat. You know that. You just enjoy the attention and how you fit into 15 minutes of momentary fame. But anyway… I’ll respond to a few things you lied about later.

Wow… still can’t believe “Gail” (quotes are just for you) won’t roll in it anymore. You needed more bravado and less crescendo, I believe, in your final unveiling to me. I did get a kick out of it though. You most likely saved me a few dollars. Heh, heh…

      Be well!

    • Jeff H

You have to remember Matthew, that at the time I was being told by the people who Rick had insulted and mocked that the last thing you want to do with him was let him know who you are. Because, as we’ve seen over the years, Rick has no qualms about bringing family members or friends into his tirades. He’s gone after wives, husbands, children, anybody he can use to try and taunt the people who dare to speak out against him. Just ask the man who’s deceased girlfriend he tried to villify.

As for the Gail Simone thread, it’s being shut down too, so everyone can move on to more important things. You can’t please everybody. I have no regrets about how offended Rick Olney may be, because Rick Olney has no regard for anybody but Rick Olney.

As far as Rick posting here, the only one he’s doing that for is himself. Once he’s forgotten here, we won’t even have to worry about hearing anything from him.

If you choose not to visit the site again, I wish you well. But if you do decide to come back, we’ll be recording the wrap up podcast Thursday evening, and including Matt Busch’s response to our last show. Hope you give it a try.

      • Rick Olney

        Hmmm…

” He’s gone after wives, husbands, children, anybody he can use to try and taunt the people who dare to speak out against him. Just ask the man who’s deceased girlfriend he tried to villify.”

That isn’t true necessarily, and if you’ve going to judge the actions of one person regardless of who it is … you might want to really look at the antagonists and what they’ve stated towards that one person over the years. It shows aggression and organized effort.

Oh, and did you happen to learn of this yet?
